 Locator XTS-2500 Non Linear Junction Detector (NLJD)
 
 
The Locator XTS-2500 is designed and manufactured to high reliability military standards and represents some of the most innovative features in NLJD technology including increased transmitter power and a newly designed highly visible AMOLED display providing additional information including the NLJD’s algorithmic interpretation of the target in terms of ‘Threat’ or ‘Corrosive’. This intuitive display is far superior  to all other NLJDs and conveys information and results that are much easier to use than analogue NLJDs from other manufacturers. 
The Locator XTS-2500 is a Continuous Wave (CW) NLJD. In a CW NLJD, a narrow band signal is continuously transmitted. Being narrow band, it is possible to have very selective and sensitive harmonic receivers with large dynamic range and excellent demodulated audio quality. When coupledwith the latest state of the art fast DSP chips and enhanced receive algorithms, one finds the Shearwater NLJD to be highly sensitive and responsive, unlike older DSP models which tend to be slow, and less sensitive.
The Locator XTS-2500 NLJD uses automatic adaptive power algorithms that reduce transmitter power when received signals become very strong, and also provides for manual control of NLJD power output and harmonic receiver sensitivity. 
The Locator XTS-2500 provides the advantage of 2.5 GHz operation. We are now seeing devices that are shielded against 900 MHz NLJDs but not 2500 MHz, providing a clear advantage for the Locator XTS-2500. On various targets the Locator XTS-2500 is also more efficient than detectors operating at 800-900 MHz frequencies with greater power.
The Locator XTS-2500 represents a new level of advanced operational and detection capability with lightweight construction and is an essential tool for electronic countermeasure searches, improvised explosive device detection and a variety of security applications. The Locator XTS-2500 has been designed to the very highest standards in terms of functionality, ease of operation and reliability, even in the harshest of environments.
