About Palantir FAR
The most important component of any professional wireless signal intelligence solution is the receiver hardware. Without the input of complete and accurate information, proper detailed signal detection and analysis will be limited. Professional operators whether they are from government, military, law enforcement or private industry demand the very best equipment for high threat level applications.
Quality professional receivers and spectrum analyzers with high end specifications and capability can be very expensive. Many are large, heavy, complex and time consuming to operate, not suitable for mobile, covert, fast deployment or tactical operations and most were never designed for specific TSCM requirements.
There are also receivers at the other end of the scale that are portable and inexpensive but lack the capability and functionality of more professional offerings. Many of these inexpensive receivers exhibit processing "bottlenecks" and performance issues when used in real world environments and have limited performance specifications including frequency range, slow spectrum scanning speeds, narrow bandwidth, low receiver sensitivity and spurious free dynamic range and limited audio / video demodulation capability. Many of these receivers are designed and better suited for the amateur radio market or those looking for an inexpensive basic search receiver and not for the complex high threat counterintelligence requirements of government, military or corporate organizations.
The Palantir TSCM Fast Acquisition Receiver (FAR) was developed entirely in Canada with more than 30 years of government and military experience and designed for high performance wireless signal intelligence. Extensive input from government and military TSCM professionals indicated that of the many receiver performance features and specifications, speed and resolution were among the most important for addressing both current and future counter surveillance and intelligence requirements.
Our TSCM receiver engineering team has responded to the requirements of TSCM and intelligence operational specialists and designed, built and tested the fastest digital signal processing board available in the commercial marketplace with scan speeds of 200 GHz per second and an industry leading 100 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth. Coupled with our new 100 kHz to 11 GHz radio frequency tuner, we have a fully digital, highly linear state of the art counter surveillance receiver that is fastest in class. The Palantir FAR delivers the performance of $60,000 - $100,000 lab spectrum analyzers, in a cost effective, robust, compact and easy to operate quick deployment package.
Palantir FAR incorporates a high performance signal analyzer radio front end and is fully integrated with one of the most advanced professional TSCM specific operator software applications available for seamless reliable operation. It is designed for the detection and demodulation of clandestine signals in the frequency range 100 kHz to 11 GHz. This enables the detection of radio data with time-stamps, to a flash memory device.
Palantir FAR allows the user to visualize RF data in time and / or frequency domain views using a java-based graphical user interface. It will capture and demodulate all TSCM threats including standard audio / video communication devices, modified devices and complete custom listening devices. Palantir FAR will be able to detect both narrow and wide-band signals with varying power levels and duty cycles.
Palantir FAR is highly cost-effective. In the current design state, state-of-the-art analog-to-digital converters are used with 125 MSPS sampling rate and 70 dB dynamic range. The frequency range is supported by new quadrature demodulator and PLL/VCO chips that have yet to appear in any commercial TSCM receiver to date.
Palantir FAR is a system that can be controlled and remotely accessed across a network using an Ethernet link. Palantir can also be locally accessed using a high-speed USB interface. It may also operate stand-alone and saving captured triggers can be used to initiate data capture.
Palantir FAR also comes with an internal GPS reference for RF mapping applications.
